Reorganization of the Simile Widgets
From SIMILE Widgets
Over the past few years, the various sub-projects of the original MIT SIMILE project have undergone many changes. The Simile Widgets spin off project (the purpose for the current site) has moved into the open source community. (Thank you!) Numerous web sites, including blogs, wikis, mailing lists, etc.., have been created to garner the help of the community. This has led to some confusion as to which of the sites are most current and what each component is used for.
Here is a proposed reorganization:
| Name | Host/Software | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Simile-Widgets Home, http://simile-widgets.org/ | SVN/HTML or Wordpress | Main home site. This would include descriptions of each widget, and possibly a blog for announcements and short articles...maybe |
| Simile-Widgets Documentation Wiki, http://simile-widgets.org/wiki/ | MediaWiki | For all documentation |
| Issue Queue, http://code.google.com/p/simile-widgets/w/list | Google Code | Issue queue for bug fixes, enhancement requests |
| Mailing List, http://groups.google.com/group/simile-widgets?hl=en | Google Group | Mailing list/dicussion forum |
| Simile Widgets API Repository, http://api.simile-widgets.org/ | home site | This is the codebase people should link to for stable/production applications. |
| Simile Widgets Development API Repository, http://trunk.simile-widgets.org/ | home site | This is the codebase people should link to for unstable/in-development applications. |
